Let the total number of fish in the aquarium be x .

And out of them, 2/5 are surgeonfish , that is

\frac{2x}{5}

And out of 2/5 surgeonfish , 3/4 are yellowtangs, that is

\frac{3}{4}* \frac{2x}{5} = \frac{6x}{20} = \frac{3x}{10}

Required fraction is

\frac{3x/10}{x} = \frac{3}{10}

F(-4) for f (x) = -4x+9<br>f(-4)=?
Dovator [93]

F(x)= -4x+9

Multiply f*x

xF=9+4x

Solve for X: -4x+xF=9+4x-4x=0

Combine like terms: -4x+4x=0

-4x+xF=9+0= 9

-9+-4x +xF = 0.

I read 1/3 of a book in an hour.<br> How much more of the book will I read in 2 1/5 hours
Verizon [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the number of pages of the book in the given hour:

To find the number of pages in 2 1/5 hours, multiply the number of pages read in 1 hour by 2 1/5 hours.

\sf \text{  Number of pages read in 2 $\dfrac{1}{5}$ hours = $\dfrac{1}{3}*2\dfrac{1}{5}$ }

                                                       \sf = \dfrac{1}{3}*\dfrac{11}{5}\\\\=\dfrac{11}{15}

\sf \text{Number of pages read more in 2 $\dfrac{1}{5}$ hours = $\dfrac{11}{15}-\dfrac{1}{3}$}

                                                                 \sf =\dfrac{11}{15}-\dfrac{1*5}{3*5}\\\\=\dfrac{11}{15}-\dfrac{5}{15}\\\\=\dfrac{6}{15}
