The American Revolution was an ideological and political revolution which occurred in colonial North America between 1765 and 1783. The American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies defeated the British in the American Revolutionary War, gaining independence from the British Crown and establishing the United States of America, the first modern democracy.
It separates North and South Korea. It was the border between them since the Korean war that was led over the unification of the country. The northeners wanted to have a fully communist Korea while the southerners wanted to have a western oriented Korea.
