Eddi Din [679]

Answer: speaker

Explanation:

Just as fiction depends on a narrator, we should note that poetry depends on a speaker who describes events, feelings, and ideas to the readers.

The narrator, tells a story and determines the point of view of the story. Just like the fiction has a narrator, we should note that the poetry also has a speaker who is regarded as the voice of the poem. Most times, the speaker is usually the poet.

Fuel crisis of nepal in two paragraphs<br><br>
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

Nepal’s fuel supplies – mainly coming from the Indian Oil Corporation – have been largely cut off. India claims its trucks are reluctant to cross the border because of turmoil in the region, but many Nepalis are convinced that India is deliberately blockading the country, trying to convince Kathmandu to rewrite the constitution, the Financial Times reported last week.

Cordaid project sites in Rasuwa district, about 3.5 hours drive from Kathmandu, have been affected by the blockade and fuel shortage. Staff members of Cordaid and partner organizations have not been able to visit the area and monitor relief operations on a regular basis. They are covering long distances by foot to do their work in the field.

The last two weeks we haven’t been able to send trucks to sites with emergency items (WASH materials) to the project sites in Rasuwa. The first phase of the emergency recovery project is supposed to end by 25th of October, but due to the situation this is likeley to be postponed.

Cordaid driver Anil Tamang: “I got 20 litres of fuel last week, after queuing for 6 hours. But now gas stations have been closed completely.” Cordaid continues to conduct risk assessments in two villages in Rasuwa district. We can only do this, because most of the trainers, community mobilizers and community members are walking long distances to reach the villages.

Fuel shortages severely hit Nepal’s economy. The beginning of October is the start of the tourist season, an important source of income for the country. But restaurants are closing due to shortage of cooking gas and essential supplies. The fuel crisis affects the many trade fairs and annual exhibitions that come with the big festival of dasain, starting on October 16th. Moreover, the many thousands who directly depend on their daily earnings, are losing their daily bread as a result of the blockades

Selections must be from Unit 1: William Bradford (U1L2), Anne Bradstreet (U1L4), Phillis Wheatley (U1L4), Jonathan Edwards (U1L5
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

William Bradford.

Anne Bradstreet.

Explanation:

Excerpt written by Willian Bradford, in the poem "A word to New England":

<em>"Oh New England, you can not boast; </em>

<em>Thy former glory thou hast lost. </em>

<em>When H00ker, Winthrop, Cotton died, </em>

<em>And many precious ones beside, </em>

<em>Thy beauty then it did decay, </em>

<em>And still doth languish more away. "</em>

William Bradford was one of the first American writers, being one of the most important in the literary production and in the general history of the country. He was a Puritan, served as governor of the Plymouth colony and is the author of the most important account of English colonists and the difficulties they faced on the new continent.

Excerpt written by Anne Bradstreet, in the poem "Upon a Fit of Sickness":

<em>"Bubble blast, how long can'st last? </em>

<em>That always art a breaking, </em>

<em>No sooner blown, but dead and gone, </em>

<em>Ev'n as a word that's speaking. </em>

<em>The whil'st I live, this grace me give, </em>

<em>I doing good may be, </em>

<em>Then death's arrest I shall count best, </em>

<em>because it's thy decree. "</em>

Anne Bradstreet is recognized as the first poet within the territory where the USA is today. She never went to school, but she learned to read and write with her father who was instrumental in her education and one of the main responsible for her ability. She was also a Puritan, but she was not well regarded by other Puritans for displaying behavior considered wrong for that society, such as a woman writing and showing love for her husband.
