Answer:

D.

the importance of being true to oneself

Explanation:

This is true because, the previous play never touched on the theme of the importance of being true to oneself. From the dialogue above, it could be seen that, the wife, Linda is trying to understand why the husband left them to die.

To her, the husband disappointed her greatly by not quitting the job when it starting taking a toll on him. The whole theme centered on the importance of being true to oneself rather than taking the easy route to quit life due to difficulties experienced.

Lord of the Flies was originally published in 1954. William Golding wanted to convey the message that human beings are savage by
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Lord of the Flies explained some things that we now see today, such as leading or being the follower and being good and evil. There are something's I'd like to point out though, which is the fact that the kids were between ages of 6 and 12 I believe, and they had no grown up. They were thriving to surive with food and shelter. They had no one to tell them to do, and they were lost in control, which then leads them to do the unbelievable. So answering your question, the message is relevant.

THE UNSPOKEN HISTORY BEHIND A SURNAME
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

D.

Explanation:

"The Unspoken History Behind a Surname" is an article written by Lolly Bowean. The author through this article shares her experience when people inquire about the origin of her surname.

The author writes that when people probe her about her origin, at times it is painful to discuss it. As it will mean to go back to the times of enslavement and the legacy of Americans. The author says that when, once a lady asked her about her origin and she explained to her how Boweans came from through the marrriage of 'Norwoods' and 'Wakefields', the lady almost whispered that 'they were whites.'

The author then recalls how difficult it becomes, at times, to discuss about her origin as the baggage of race comes upon her. She says that though she is not ashamed of her enslaved ancestors, but people rarely wants to discuss about the history.

So, the correct answer is option D.
