No j’ai means I have, je suis is i am
The french says I have ___ years (j’ai __ans) They also say I have hot (j’ai chaud) instead of je suis. If you say je suis when talking about how hot you are (temperature wise) then it can mean something very different.

Pourquoi suis-je une pomme de terre.

I need help
Amiraneli [1.4K]
Pourquoi means why. Je suis is passe compose in etre. Une pomme de terre means potato. You NEED a verb.(Ex. Je suis couper le pomme de terre.) I cut the potato. Plus you need to know when to use passe compse avoir and etre. As well as Imparfait if you are talking about the past. Trust me I am in french 3.
