Answer:

The electors were created by the Constitution to do only one thing: elect the President and Vice President of the United States. ... Some delegates wanted Congress to choose the President, but that would have upset the balance of power among the three branches of government.

What was the result of the battle of tippecanoe?
Nikolay [14]

Answer:

D) The Native American movement lost some of its power.

Explanation:

The Native American movement lost some of its power. The victory gained by Henry Harrison broke Tecumseh’s power, ending the threat from the side of Indian confederation, although did not become the end of Indian resistance to U.S. expansion into the Ohio Valley.

Having achieved his goal - the expulsion of the Indians from Prophetstown - Harrison declared a decisive victory. But some contemporaries of Harrison, as well as some subsequent historians, expressed doubts about this outcome of the battle. The historian Alfred Cave noted that in none of the modern reports from Native American agents, traders and government officials about the consequences of Tippecanoe one can find confirmation that Harrison won a decisive victory. The defeat was a failure for the Tecumseh Confederation, but the Indians soon restored Prophetstown, and, in fact, border violence increased after the battle.

Write a four hundred word essay telling the significance the Battle of Saratoga had on the Continental Army
Allushta [10]

Answer:

During the time of the American Revolution, there were many battles that took place and affected the Revolution. One battle though, made a huge impact on the American Revolution. The Battle of Saratoga proved that the disadvantaged and weaker American forces were strong enough to overpower the British forces. It all started when General John Burgoyne needed to get his forces to Albany. He and his army headed across the Hudson River, where they would then take a road south-ward to Albany. Burgoyne knew the enemy (American forces) were in the area, but he did not know of their exact location. Leading to the Battles of Bemis Heights and Freeman's Farm, the Battle of Saratoga became known as a highly significant battle.

Freeman was a Loyalist who had earlier left for Canada. After about three hours of battle, the Americans ran out of ammunition, making them have to retreat. The British then claimed victory at Freeman's Farm.

Freeman's Farm was located on the west side bank of the Hudson River. It was right near Bemis Heights, making it easy for people to build fortifications in the woods and high outcroppings. It was located a few miles away from Burgoyne's destination of Albany. It was a perfect location for an army to fight and keep themselves in somewhat of an alright sanctuary. During the Battle, both sides used different tactics and strategies. Burgoyne decided to go with a risky strategy of dividing his army into three columns, two towards Bemis Heights and one to follow the road that paralleled the Hudson. The American forces (led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold) placed expert riflemen (led by Daniel Morgan) in charge of taking out the left flank of the British (led by Simon Frasier). This strategy worked well for the Americans, of course until they ran out of ammunition. The battle (of Freeman's Farm) was officially ended when Burgoyne heard word from Sir Henry Clinton. Clinton was getting ready to leave New York City and come assist Burgoyne with the continuous battles.

Some manufacturing companies have been moving their factories to countries where nonunion labor is cheap. They say they do this
klasskru [66]

I would support moving factories to countries where union labour is cheap because that is the financially wise decision to make.

Also, I will ensure that the welfare of workers in those factories are met.

Global Manufacturing Industry

Global manufacturing industry tends to favour countries where non union labour is relatively cheap.

For investors, their primary aim is to invest in a sustainable business that is competitive globally.

It is understandable that most investors would tend to side with moving their manufacturing base to countries where non union labour is still cheap.

However, it is also important that the care and safety of workers should be paramount in any company.

As an investor, I will support moving the manufacturing base to a country where union labour is cheap and also care for my workers so that we may have competitive advantage in the global market.
