<span>It was Walter Raleigh who got permission from Elizabeth I to establish a colony in North America. It should be noted however that this colony ultimately failed, and it wasn't until Jamestown that a viable colony existed.</span>
The Natives were in the U.S before the English came over from England, and when they came the Natives were removed from their land and moved to different locations. Also, some were forced into slavery in the south.

to religious ideas (E.g. on the idea that God created all laws, and not obeying
them is sinful). Humanists taught about questioning everything, including the
