In 1703 the French in Canada proposed to destroy all of the English settlements along the entire New England frontier, and the British revived their plan of 1690 to attack Canada using Lake Champlain. Once again Lake Champlain was chosen as the primary invasion route, and raids were routinely carried out in the region.
