I think it took so long to grant women suffrage because it was a strange concept to many, and women were seen as insignificant compared to men, and that their only purpose was to stay at home and complete their duties. The general opinion was most likely that women were incapable of voting, and were too "uneducated" to vote, so many were opposed to the idea.

The CIA wanted to destabilize the Chilean government because in 1970, Salvador Allende was elected president. Allende was the first Marxist to become president of a Latin American country. Since the beginning of his political career, Allende always had a close relationship with the Chilean Communist Party. He kept close contact with Cuba and this scared the U.S. government. The Nixon administration continued to support Allende's opponents in the Chilean Congress and the CIA and the US State Department officials were ordered to put pressure on the Allende government.

The corona virus has effected EVERYONE. It came out of nowhere and has no vaccine. We are told to stay home and quarantine but some people don’t get the point.
Healthcare workers are put in risk everyday. Yet they still manage to go to work and help us everyday. Police officers, doctors, nurses, essential workers deserve so much more. We as a community need to stay home in order to overcome this.
It’s not going to be an easy ride to normality. We as people need to social distance and leave our houses only when necessary. I hope you and your family stay safe.
