1) First of all the most important factor would be the desires of the one that is cooking the meat. If they are cooking it for themselves they should have a certain prefernce such as grilled meat, broiled, fried, or baked. If the meat is being cooked for someone else you can be a little more spontaneous.

2) The next important factor for the cooker to consider is what materials do you have to prepare the meat. Everyone one or every kitchen may have cooking materials that vary. You have to be able to decide how you are going to cook based on What you have to cook it.

3) Last but not least. Since this is the question of a person who may have just started cooking. You should have a recipe or manual to follow so you can cook as best as possible while remaining safe within the guidelines.
