In the Greek tragedy Antigone of Sophocles, the playwright uses the event of punishment to resolve the conflict between divine right and human right.
We must realize that the divine laws were in conflict, embodied in the religious antigone, and the human laws determined by the free will of Creon. The purpose of the tragic work was precisely to combat the two extremist positions, punishing both for not seeking an agreement and wanting to prevail over one another. On Antigone's side, there was disobedience to the laws of his country. From Creon's side, there was the disobedience of traditions. This was how each one was punished at the end, Antigone, by his disobedience, caused the death of two more people. So she became a heroine of values, but who did not enjoy any prize. Creon, by his ambition and his despotism, lost his son and his wife, evidencing that we must think about the responsibility of our actions in the world.
