Here is what I found.

A team of researchers from the Italian national committee for cultural heritage is claiming that Da Vinci's “Mona Lisa”, the most famous painting in the world, was inspired by the artist's male apprentice Salai. ... As well as looking like Salai, the Mona Lisa gives even more clues to his influence, says Vincenti.

Bonus question.

I believe that Mona Lisa is a sweet, kind, honest woman.

Hope this helps!!!

AnswMona Lisa, La Gioconda from Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece, was a real person. Mona Lisa was a real Florentine woman, born and raised in Florence under the name of Lisa Gherardini.

In 1516, Leonardo was invited by King Francis I to work at the Clos Lucé near the Château d'Amboise; it is believed that he took the Mona Lisa with him and continued to work on it after he moved to France.
