Many people influenced by the Vietnam War wrote books, essays, and other types of art to explain and tell about their memories and perspectives on the war. Former Vietnam soldier Tim O'Brien claims in "The Things They Carried" that war can be both frightening and peaceful, albeit in "Condemnation"
