Please help with a math problem :/ Please show steps...

x^2 -13x = -36
Marianna [84]
X^2 - 13 x = -36
add 36 to both sides

x^2 - 13x +36 = 0
figure out the factor
(x-4)(x-9) = 0
so (x-4) or (x-9) equals 0
so solution is
x-4=0 add 4 to both sides and get x = 4
x-9=0 add 9 to both sides and get x=9
x={ 4, 9}

I need help with these two
Dmitrij [34]

19.

A) 84 : 120 --) 7 : 10, I came up with it by knowing x, # of times ordered,

7(x) : 3(x) sum will be 120 and guessed from there.

B) Well I came up with it trying to get the ratio for A, 84 smoothies.

C) 84 ( smoothies) - 36 ( juice drinks)

20.

A) Ok you first have the birds from the first hour which sum up to 24. Then to calculate what of how many birds you saw for the second hour you use the ratio 2 (cardinals) : 3 ( chickadees) : 3 ( pigeons). Now before you use the ratio you need to know how many birds out of the 36 have not been seen in the first hour so just subtract 36 - 24 = 12. Next you figure out what number you can multiply every bird against to get a sum of 12 birds in total. I figured out it's 1.5 as a multiplier. I know physically it's not possible, but I did all the steps correct and apparently they don't care it's not realistic. I hope this helps you on the homework sheet.

Please help! Its due today!
Helga [31]

Answer:

don't know if this is the right way butttt i'm going to give it a shot

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost: I'm guessing this is for the rent for the shoes or is the total cost?

Bowler World: 5 + 1.1g = c | c + 1.1g = t {(this is the other option) probs not correct}

Lucky Spares: 3 + 1.5g = c | c + 1.5g = t

K so personally you should choose option 1 (for example: 5 + 1.1g = c), i have no idea how the proper format is supposed to be

either i hope this helps :)
