At what point does John Proctor realize he is facing his own demise? what is his reaction? How is / isn't this consistent with t
laiz [17]

John Proctor is the protagonist of <em>The Crucible</em>, by Arthur Miller. In this story, Proctor has one major trait that brings about his demise: his lust for Abigail, a girl who works for him. Abigail and John embark on an affair, which ends up ruining his reputation. Although Proctor tries to hide the affair at first, he eventually realizes that he is facing his own demise as his wife Elizabeth is arrested.

Proctor's actions are consistent with those of a tragic hero. A single character trait led Proctor to make a series of bad choices, and in a context where reputation is everything, his damaged image cannot be expected to make a comeback. These actions are his downfall.

Hello people ~<br>change into passive voice<br>"The crew paved the entire stretch of highway."
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

Active :- The crew paved the entire stretch of highway."

<em><u>Passive :- 'The entire stretch of highway was paved by the crew</u></em>'

Explanation:-

<em> The given sentence is in the Active voice, as the form of the verb (‘paved’) shows that its subject (‘The crew’) did something and was ‘active’.</em>

<em> The given sentence is in the Active voice, as the form of the verb (‘paved’) shows that its subject (‘The crew’) did something and was ‘active’.Therefore, it has to be changed to the Passive voice, where something was done by the subject, and it was ‘passive’.</em>

<em>In order to do that</em>,

<em>(a). The object of the transitive verb (a verb that requires one or more objects) in the Active voice should become the subject of the verb in the Passive voice (‘The entire stretch of highway’ becomes the subject in place of ‘The crew’).</em>

(b) The verb should be changed from the Active voice to the Passive voice (‘paved’ to ‘was paved’).

Thus, the same sentence in the Passive voice is ‘The entire stretch of highway was paved by the crew’.
