Factor the following Polynomials 2x2 + 5x + 2

Mathematics
1 answer:
Leokris [45]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the multiples of 2x^2 and 2

for 2x^ you get 2,1 but they need to have x to get x^2 so; (2x and x)=2x^2

for 2 you get 2,1 (2x1)=2

Because your equation has a 5x and no negatives you know that your factors need to be positive.

(2x+1)(x+2)

when you multiply these you get

2x^2+4x+x+2 (remember 2x multiplies with everything inside (x+2) = 2x^2+4) and so on for the x (x+2) =x+2 )

Then you combine like terms 4x+x=5x

and those are the only like terms available and you get

2x^2+5x+2

Hope it helped

Explain how to use the coordinates and absolute value to find the distance between points at (3, –7) and (3, 2).
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

Using the formula for the distance between two points, which is generated using coordinates and absolute value, we find that the distance between these two points is of 9 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance between two points:

Suppose that we have two points, (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2). The distance between them is given by:

D = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

This formula is generated using coordinates and absolute value.

In this question:

(3,-7) and (3,2). So

D = \sqrt{(3-3)^2+(2-(7))^2} = \sqrt{81} = 9

The distance between these two points is of 9 units.

Which digit is in the thousandths place?

1,356.209
myrzilka [38]

Answer: 9

Step-by-step explanation: The thousandths place is always three spots away from the right side of the decimal place. Whenever the question asks for the thousandTHs place then it is a decimal the question is looking for. If it ask for the thousands place (with no th) then the question is looking for an actual number, not a decimal. Hope this helped!
