Reconsidering College College is not for everyone. Too often schools push all students to go to college right away after high sc

hool. They say that it is the key to success and that it will lead to the greatest opportunities for everyone. However, this simply isn't true. My brother went to college and earned good grades, but he was not able to find a job after graduation. He learned a lot of great things in college, but that did not necessarily make him a good job candidate. There are also other options for people who have different interests. I don't enjoy a school where teachers lecture too much, and I prefer more interactive activities. I am much more interested in learning a trade and would consider attending a trade school or taking up an apprenticeship. This route would provide me with a good-paying job, while allowing me to follow my individual passions. I am not alone in this, but the message from my school and many counselors is that college is the only option for people like us. College can be great, but there are many other paths out there. A lot of students need to take time off before going to college, which will help them figure out what they want to do and save a little money in the process. This is especially important for students who do lack the financial resources to pay for college on their own. Whether it is for financial or personal reasons, plenty of students want and need to consider something besides college immediately after high school. It is time that high schools acknowledge that reality and prepare students for the best future for them as individuals. 2 Select the correct answer. The author is biased against the value of college because A. the author's brother did not receive a job after college. B. trade schools and apprenticeships are viable alternatives to college. C. colleges remain out of reach for many students due to high costs. D. the author hears about college often from his or her counselors.

Answer:

A.

Explanation:

Author's brother did got good grades in his collage but couldn't get a job because of his surroundings. People keeps influencing him to go to collage, get good grades and get a good corporate job. As usual he listened their words but he didn't do it according to his choice. If he ignores all these and focused on his own target just as the author wished then he would find his suitable job. If people carries on achieving their own dream work instead of listening people's opinions, then they could do something in life.

Hope it helped

Read the excerpt from "Island of Hope, Island of Tears." Giuseppe D'Amico (Teresa's father) "had a hard time finding a job in Am
kiruha [24]

Answer:

The statement that identifies the cause and effect relationship is: The unionization of electricians causes Giuseppe D'Amico's difficulty in finding a job.

Explanation:

A cause and effect relationship can be presented when we see a sentence where one element causes the existence of another. Regarding the excerpt shown in the question above, we can see that Teresa's father is having a hard time finding a job as an electrician. That's because in America, electricians are union members and this prevents electricians without union members, like Teresa's father, from being hired. This shows that the unionization of electricians is the cause and the difficulty of finding a job is the effect.
