USPshnik [31]

Answer:

 3. about 7.48 hours

 4. about 1.8892 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Both of these questions make use of the relation ...

 time = distance / speed

3. time = (965 mi)/(129 mi/h) ≈ 7.48062 h ≈ 7.48 h

__

4. time = (612.1 mi)/(324 mi/h) ≈ 1.889198 h ≈ 1.8892 h

(We have rounded the time to sufficient precision so that the distance at the given speed rounds to the number given.)

I just need a little help on this ??! Please.
lawyer [7]

1. Since it's m - 7 you would have 7 to both sides so you would in fact have m < 13. If you double check your answer, you see that if m is say 12 (because 12 is obviously less than 13), 12 - 7 < 6

2. Again, use the same process on this problem as the first one. Add 8 to each sides because it's you're subtracting 8 from n. So you end up with n > 13. Check your answer. Say n is 14. 14 - 8 > 5

3. This one is different because you are adding 5 to p. So in order to get p by itself, you need to subtract 5 from both sides. p < 5. Say p is 4, 4 + 5 < 10.

When working with problems like these, you need to isolate the variable on one side and get it by itself.

Julie gives 7 pieces of candy to each of her friends. If Julie gives all of her candy away, which amount of candy could have bee
True [87]
To find the answer to this problem, you just need to figure out which total amount of candy is divisible by 7.

161/7=23
162/7=23.1428571429
145/7=20.7142857143
128/7=18.2857142857

Obviously, Julie cannot give a fraction of an amount of candy to someone. So that rules out that she had 162, 145, or 128 pieces of candy.

The only amount of candies that Julie could have that is divisible by 7 is 161 candies, which means that 161 is your answer.

The physical plant at the main campus of a large state university recieves daily requests to replace florecent lightbulbs. The d
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

50%

Step-by-step explanation:

68-95-99.7 rule

68% of all values lie within the 1 standard deviation from mean (\mu-\sigma,\mu+\sigma)

95% of all values lie within the 1 standard deviation from mean (\mu-1\sigma,\mu+1\sigma)

99.7% of all values lie within the 1 standard deviation from mean (\mu-3\sigma,\mu+3\sigma)

The distribution of the number of daily requests is bell-shaped and has a mean of 55 and a standard deviation of 4.

\mu = 55\\\sigma = 4

68% of all values lie within the 1 standard deviation from mean (\mu-\sigma,\mu+\sigma) = (55-4,55+4)= (51,59)

95% of all values lie within the 2 standard deviation from mean (\mu-1\sigma,\mu+1\sigma)= (55-2(4),55+2(4))= (47,63)

99.7% of all values lie within the 3 standard deviation from mean (\mu-3\sigma,\mu+3\sigma)= (55-3(4),55+3(4))= (43,67)

Refer the attached figure

P(43<x<55)=2.5%+13.5%+34%=50%

Hence The approximate percentage of light bulb replacement requests numbering between 43 and 55 is 50%
