Endoparasites have extreme specialisations which makes their life cycles more complex. Some examples of endoparasites are Taenia solium and Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke), etc.

The special structures possessed by endoparasites are as follows:

➥ Hooks .

➥ Dorsoventrally flattened body.

➥ High reproductive potential.

The DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a double stranded molecule that has been found to be responsible for heredity of traits. It is characterized by 3 main components:

 • A phosphate group
 • A deoxyribose sugar
 • Purine and or pyrimidine bases

The purine bases include Adenine and Guanine while the pyrimidine bases include Thymine and Cytosine.

The DNA differs from RNA in that the RNA (ribonucleic acid) is single stranded, contains ribose sugar and instead of Thymine base, it contains Uracil.
