Originally commissioned by the Opera del Duomo for the Cathedral of Florence, it was meant to be one of a series of large statues to be positioned in the niches of the cathedral's tribunes, way up at about 80mt from the ground. David was originally commissioned as one of a series of statues of prophets to be positioned along the roofline of the east end of Florence Cathedral, but was instead placed in a public square, outside the Palazzo Vecchio, the seat of civic government in Florence, in the Piazza della Signoria, where it was unveiled on. Hope this helps!

Ruins of what kinds of facilities for the pyramid workers have been found?
Luda [366]
I belive A,B,D, E, F, G, and I, are correct. My reasoning is; ancient Egyptians were big on beer, and their beer was made with grain, so they would have breweries, and granaries around and available.

They also had medical places to treat the injured working on the pyramids (I know that from watching a documentary.) I'm not so sure about the child care ones (they did have schools though), that you'd have to look up.

I know for certain they had housing around the pyramids, and bakeries for baking bread. And I'm 90% sure they had cemeteries around the pyramid cause I mean, they had a city there, and back in the day people were dropping like flies ;)
