Answer:

1) he gets on his boat to get away from everything. he says in the interview, “my escape is to just get in a boat and disappear on the water." he thinks it is “gorgeous.” he loves the water and the fish.

2) hiaasen describes being out on the water fishing as being 'like a church' for him.

3) writing and his family. he says, "it's number three on my list behind the writing and behind my family.”

4) i can't find anything on number four but as soon as i do i'll type it in the comments or edit my answer
