In paragraph of at least five sentences, summarize President Truman’s perspective on using an atomic bomb as a weapon of war aga
Furkat [3]
President Truman had a very difficult decision to make in terms of dropping the atomic bomb. Before dropping the bomb, Truman was hoping to get an unconditional surrender from Japan after the demands made at the Potsdam Conference. However, Japan refused.

Instead of dropping the atomic bomb, he also considered an invasion of mainland Japan. However, this invasion was estimated to have millions of casualties total and would have resulted in the deaths of thousands of Allied forces and Japanese military personnel.

Ultimately Truman decides to drop bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, effectively ending World War II. Even though this was a weapon of massive destruction, he argued that this actually saved lives. He used the estimated number of deaths/casualties from the possible land invasion to justify his decision.

what did federalists think about creating a new constitution?
dsp73
The differences between the Federalists and the Antifederalists are vast and at times complex. Federalists’ beliefs could be better described as nationalist. The Federalists were instrumental in 1787 in shaping the new US Constitution, which strengthened the national government at the expense, according to the Antifederalists, of the states and the people. The Antifederalists opposed the ratification of the US Constitution, but they never organized efficiently across all thirteen states, and so had to fight the ratification at every state convention. Their great success was in forcing the first Congress under the new Constitution to establish a bill of rights to ensure the liberties that the Antifederalists felt the Constitution violated.

What are some reasons given by the Texas Secession Convention for leaving the Union?
Alinara [238K]

Texas Secession Convention ceded from the nation with the argument that it was against the principles of the state to follow the Republican government thus formed.

Explanation:

Texas Secession Convention was one of the main moments of the history of the US that led to the Civil war happening as Texas was a newer state that succeeded rather dramatically with its own governor forced to give up his place as he did not agree to the plan.

It was because the election of the Republicans to senate and Congress made them angry and they knew that the anti slavery sentiment as well as the imposition of tarries on the state were to be levied, the people in the convention wanted out of the deal.
