The Cold war was a series of Proxy Wars, The Cold war began shortly after the end of World War 2, since Germany was overthrown the only superpowers left were U.S and Soviet Union (Present day Russia) They differences were that Soviet Union was a communist country and the U.S was a Captialist country, they both came very very close to Nuclear War since they both were making Nuclear Bombs, they also had Proxy Wars (Wars that were fought between 2 countries but not on their soil) Korean War, Vietnam, Grenada etc, the Soviet Union fell in 1991.
During the Freedom Summer campaign of 1964 in Mississippi the three civil rights workers were found dead.
Freedom Summer constituted a 1964 voter registration project in Mississippi, part of a fight by civil rights groups including the Congress on Racial Equality (CORE) and the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) to expand black voting in the South. The goal was to increase black voter registration in Mississippi, so that, the Freedom Summer workers included black Mississippians and over 1,000 out-of-state, most of them white volunteers.
During the age of imperialism, European countries competed
to gain new territories to acquire markets and resources to gain wealth and
influence. The more territories one
country control the more powerful their influence grew in world politics and
created conflict as some countries saw others as a threat. When the war ended, many countries were
devastated as lives were lost and the economy suffered. This was especially true to those on the
losing. After many demands were placed
on them, they grew angry and as a result this laid the seeds for the Second
World War.
