<u>Answer:</u>

<em>Ensuring a sustainable supply of food for the world's fast growing population is a major challenge. Food production is one of the key areas that require action, alongside issues of food consumption, nutrition and food security. </em>

<em> It is estimated that by 2050 the world's population will reach 9.1 billion (34% higher than today). Food production will need to increase by 70% to feed the larger and most likely more urban population.1 More food will have to be produced using less land. In addition water and energy will become limiting factors. </em>

<em> Added to the challenge is that sustainable food products need to be nutrient-dense to allow people to have a diverse diet that contains a balanced and adequate combination of energy and nutrients to support good health.</em>

Which statement would the information presented in this population pyramid best justify?
Gnesinka [82]
<span>Since ages in a population pyramid are represented ranging from youngest at the bottom to oldest at the top, the two graphs aligned side by side typically give the appearance of a pyramid. This is because fewer people in a population live into old age. The BBC notes, however, that it is possible to distinguish different qualities in a population through variations from the standard pyramid shape. For example, an aging population with a low birth rate would look like an upside-down pyramid.</span>

How have rivers affected life in Europe?
trasher [3.6K]
Europe is not a typically dry place (unlike for exampe Mesopotamia) so it does not need rivers for irrigation.

Instead, rivers are needed more for transport - they have served as a means of communication and for the exchange of goods.

For example, Danube allowed a big-scale trade between the cities lying on it: Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava.

A forest has fertile soil and light is able to penetrate the canopy resulting in richly diversified understory vegetation and st
Nookie1986 [14]

The correct answer is - temperate deciduous forest.

The temperate deciduous forests are forests that are found in the mid-latitudes. These trees in these forests shed their leafs during the late autumn, and grow them again in the spring. They exist in regions where there's four clearly defined seasons.

The canopies of these forests do not stop all the light, but instead, some of the light riches the surface, while in the colder period the light has no obstacle to reach the surface. The soil is deep and fertile, which is the result of the shedding of leafs in most part, and the vegetation is nicely diversified, where there's numerous plants occupying certain height of the forest. The animals are also relatively abundant, and they are well adapted to both very cold and very warm climates.

If a sound pulse is sent vertically downward into the sea and its reflected echo from the seafloor returns 6 seconds later, the
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer: 4500 metres

Explanation:

Echo is a reflection of sound wave. It is the sound heard after it has been reflected off the surface of a wall or cliff.

Time = 6 seconds

Speed of sound in water = 1500m/s

distance =?

From the relationship ;

Speed = distance / time

Distance = speed * time

Distance = 1500 * 6 = 9000 metres

Distance here represents the total distance traveled by the pulse that is distance to the seafloor and back to the surface.

Therefore the depth of the water is given by;

Depth = distance / 2

Depth = 9000 / 2 = 4500metres.
