Consequently,</span> the water concentration of the cell's cytoplasm is higher than that of the hypertonic solution. Since the aim is to balance water concentration on the inside and outside of the cell, the water will exit the cell. The cell will lose water and, consequently, will shrink in size.

  • Since, we began with 2 molecules of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate, we  multiply the above figures by 2 and get a total of 10 NADH and 2 FADH2.
