Locke wrote that all individuals are equal in the sense that they are born with certain "inalienable" natural rights. That is, rights that are God-given and can never be taken or even given away. Among these fundamental natural rights, Locke said, are "life, liberty, and property." Natural rights are those that are not dependent on the laws or customs of any particular culture or government, and so are universal, fundamental and inalienable (they cannot be repealed by human laws, though one can forfeit their enjoyment through one's actions, such as by violating someone else's rights). Those natural rights of life, liberty, and property protected implicitly in the original Constitution are explicitly protected in the Bill of Rights. That right of liberty is the right to do all those things which do not harm another's life, property, or equal liberty. Among these fundamental natural rights, Locke said, are "life, liberty, and property." Locke believed that the most basic human law of nature is the preservation of mankind. To serve that purpose, he reasoned, individuals have both a right and a duty to preserve their own lives. Hoped this helps and mark me as brainiest please.

The system of checks and balances works like this; when a bill is proposed the senate votes on it, if it passes there it then goes to the house of representatives if it passes there it goes on to the president who either approves it or vetos it. If it is vetoed or doesn't pass by two thirds in either the house or the senate it has to be revised and voted on all over again. If it makes it through all the checks then it becomes a law
