23x + 0 = 46

23x = 46 ( divide both sides by 23 )

x = 2

Substitute x = 2 into either of the 2 equations and solve for y

Substituting into (2)

3(2) + 4y = 2

6 + 4y = 2 ( subtract 6 from both sides )

4y = - 4 ( divide both sides by 4 )

y = - 1

solution is (2, - 1 )
