A high school diploma is not only a piece of paper stating I graduated high school. It is now 2019 and having a high school diploma to get a decent job is serious. I need the diploma to show that I stayed up countless hours, when I needed to be asleep, to make sure I aced that test, to show that I slayed that quiz, to show that even when I wondered how worth it, it really was, I stayed and passed those finals. I need that not only for a job, but for myself. I need to be reminded of my accomplishments, I need to be reminded that all those hours spent weren't just for no reason. They were to see the tear on my families faces and to hear them hollering for me when I grab that diploma and walk across the stage. It is my certificate to my first big success in life. I need it to show that I can achieve anything I put my mind to, because I am a smart, hard working individual. A diploma is important to me, because once I receive it, I can then believe I'm able to accomplish anything I set my mind to.
