Most likely, you are cracking the eggs against something and you are not able to control the momentum of your hand and arm. If you insist on doing it this way, such as cracking against the edge of a bowl, consider a gentle wrist action to gently crack the egg without a lot of follow through that will damage the yolk.
It simply means 'extended family'. This refers to everyone related to you by blood such as, cousins, aunts, and grandparents. A common thing in Hispanic households' is for these people to live in one house together.
