The longer an individual is exposed to a strong odor, the less aware of the odor the individual becomes. This phenomenon is known as sensory adaptation.

Sensory adaptation is the ability for your sensory feelings to change and adapt based on their surroundings. One example is wax warmers in the house. I have a wax warmer burning constantly with a scent in 6 places of my house, the first day or so I can smell it but by the second/third day I can't. However, people coming into my house for the first time can smell how strong it is. In this case, my senses adapted to the smell in my house.

_____________ is the mental structure that aids in the processing and interpretation of information.
Yuki888 [10]

Schema is the mental structure that aids in the processing and interpretation of information.

Schema is a cognitive tool. It is the mental structure that individuals use for processing and interpretation of information. This guides cognitive processes and accompanying actions.

Through the schemata, people categorize things and situations around them based on some common features and elements, using these classifications then to understand and predict their world.

Sensory and conceptual information is processed, classed, and stored within these mental structures. This cognitive faculty helps one to function in the world by helping us understand things and events, and make conclusions and predictions about different circumstances.

Schemata includes the worldview, stereotypes, and rubrics one has.

ladessa [460]

Answer:

The answer is the arousal.

Explanation:

In classical conditioning, a conditioned stimulus (the beer) is associated with an unconditioned stimulus (the woman), which produces an unconditioned response (arousal).

This idea was demonstrated by Russian scientist Ivan Pavlov. In a famous experiment, he would ring a bell shortly before feeding a dog. The dog would soon start salivating at the sound of the bell, as it associated it with the food.
