The 1941–present era lists all of the divisions organized, raised, or authorized since then.

The dicussion nowadays is focused on how can be interpreted the German role during WWI. And the discussion is around two specific concepts: guilt or responsibility. The German Nation is certainly a different one from that involved in WWI and WWII. This is the reason why it is reasonable to state that Germany is a nation aware of their history and willing to use the experience learnt in those events to educate new generations of conscious people regarding conflict.
