Answer:

<h3>Mean of 7th Grade Math Exam Results: 84%</h3><h3>Mean of 8th Grade Math Exam Results: 74.4%</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean (also called an average) is obtained by adding all the terms together then dividing the result by the number of terms in the set.

96 + 74 + 81 + 94 + 75

420/5 = 84

Mean of 7th Grade Math Exam Results: 84%

73 + 60 + 86 + 72 + 81

372/5 = 74.4

Mean of 8th Grade Math Exam Results: 74.4%

Comments: The 7th graders got, on average, almost 10% more on their exams than did the 8th graders. Also, none of the 8th graders got an A, whereas two 7th graders got an A on their exam. My inference is that 8th grade math is harder than 7th grade math, so that is why the scores are lower.

I'm always happy to help :)

To get the mean, you add all of the numbers and then divide the sum by the number of numbers. The mean for the 7th grade math class is 84. The mean of the 8th grade class is 74.4. For the second question, an inference that you can make about the data is that the 7th grade class studied more because they have better grades.

Nataly_w [17]

Juan and Ari went to the farmers market to buy fruit. Juan’s bag of apples that he bought weighed 31/7 pounds. Ari’s bag of oranges that she bought weighed 19/3 pounds. Using compatible fractions, estimate how much heavier Ari's bag is compared to Juan's bag.

A) 1 and one-half pounds

B) 2 pounds

C) 6 pounds

D) 10 and one-half pounds

Answer:

B: approximately 2 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Juan’s bag weighed 31/7 pounds

Ari's bag weighed 19/3 pounds.

We are told to use compatible fractions to determine the difference. Thus we have to make sure the denominator is the same;

For Juan, let's multiply both numerator and denominator by 3 to get; 93/21 pounds

For Ari, let's multiply both numerator and denominator by 7 to get; 133/21

Thus, difference is;

(133/21) - (93/21) = 40/21

This gives;

1.9 pounds heavier

This is approximately 2 pounds

subtract 5x from both sides

-5x+y=42

multiply by -1

In standard form, Ax+By=C, the variable A cannot be a negative. However, this is not an option so go with c.

Setler79 [48]

Im so sorry.. I did not mean to submit an answer..

And I honestly don't know how to get rid of my answer.. but I will try to help.

4x²- 20x=0 = x_{1} = -√5, x_{2} = √5

3x²-42=0 = x_{1} = -√14, x_{2} = √14

2x²-14x=0 = x_{1} = 0, x_{2} = 7

8x²-98=0 = x_{1} = -\frac{7}{2}, x_{2} = \frac{7}{2}

I hope that these are the answers that you wanted, if they are not, I am sorry, tell me and I will try to fix them.
