Read: ‘Chasing Memories’ In Their Refugee Camp 40 Years After

Fleeing Vietnam , by Hansi Lo Wang (2015)

What is the Lo Wang’s main purpose in writing this piece? Cite evidence from the text in your response.

Answer:

The 40-year reunion was important for the former refugees because the Refugee Camp was their home at the time and they need to reconnect with those who they met there as a means to preserve their family history.

Explanation:

Although the refugees didn´t spend more than a few months at Fort Indiantown Gap, 40 years later they felt the need to reconnect with the people they had met there.

Like many others, Lo Wang’s mother was disappointed not to find anyone she had known back then because the refugees lost contact after leaving the site.
