This information is good for planning of say future mining, of constructing new buildings, pipelines, roads ie infrastructure. Geospatial technology can aid in the understanding of the landscape but cannot determine, for example where exactly an orebody exists, ie one that is buried under the ground, for this other means must be sought like exploration drilling, trenching etc.
