Dear Sir.

My name is Helen Lal and I am a student at Vuma high school. Recently I saw the announcement that you were looking for volunteers for the charity organization that you manage in the city and I decided to get in touch to have some information.

I was very interested in volunteering at your institution, but I don't know if I have the necessary requirements for that, for that reason, I would like to know what characteristics the institution looks for in a volunteer, what are the requirements to occupy this position and what are the skills necessary for this. The announcement also did not show the activities that were carried out by the institution and for that reason, I would like you to tell me about the work done, the target audience, the regions that the organization covers and what work time is being offered. I would also like to know the availability of hours for volunteers and the frequency with which the work is carried out.

That said, I would like to thank you, in advance, for the opportunity and thank you for your time.

Graciously.

Helen Lal.

Nearing the dull lights of snow

a star died on the white, extinguished

on a crash with his iconic Renault

in a route to all undistinguished.

The papers ran the usual game:

the fountains of sordid obituaries,

tarnish the fiery stage name

with the delusion of contemporaires.

I read all of them; won´t forget him.

But who will others like me remember,

who read everything that bedim

the eyes with echoes on print letter?

Forget. Forget the star awful end,

One must find a way to time better spend.

Answer: Justice is one of the important themes of the novel 'The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle'.

Explanation: In the story 'The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle' by 'Avi' is a story about a girl Charlotte whose different experiences in life change her perception about how to judge people and how she wanted to live her life.

The story highlights that justice can mean different for different people. Charlotte’s views are initially influenced by her father who is a wealthy and protective father. He wants her to be well educated and write a journal a bout her voyage. He thinks that people of lower class should respect higher class people, i.e. they deserve justice more than others.

But Charlotte thinks that justice should be right of all and should not be a privilege for some. When she was wrongly convicted for the crime she did not commit, she experienced how justice becomes privilege for a few because of their high ranks like for Captain Jaggery.

Hope this help :)

Online language arts
Ratling [72]

Answer: Language arts websites

1.  Education.com – The link will point you directly to building sentences worksheets.  Education.com offers free resources for other subjects, as well, so this is a site that you’ll see again in my free homeschooling resources posts.  You will need to sign up with Education.com in order to download the free worksheets.

2.  School Express – School Express has lots of free worksheets, again on various subjects.  The worksheet are colorful and appealing to children.  I’ve printed many worksheets from this site to supplement language arts lessons.

3.  Grammar Girl – Still confused about whom vs who?  If you want to check your grammar facts before teaching them to your children, Grammar Girl is your best friend.  Housed on the Quick and Dirty Tips website, Grammar Girl offers articles and a podcast to enrich your grammar knowledge.

4.  Mr. Nussbaum – This website is fun, fun, fun!  If your kiddos learn well by playing (like most kiddos do!) you need to check out Mr. Nussbaum.  The language arts games here teach spelling, typing, grammar and more.  This is one of the best play-and-learn websites around.

5.  Fun Brain – I know you’ve probably already heard of Fun Brain.  It’s one of the most popular of the free education sites, but it deserves a mention on my first go-around of free homeschooling resources.  Fun Brain offers a lot of language arts (and other subjects) games.  If you’ve never used it or it’s been a while, go give it a look-see!
