He was being charged with: "high crimes and misdemeanors, primarily related to the Watergate scandal. " Watergate is a complex of buildings. 5 men were caught braking into the democratic national committee headquarters. Nixon lied about having any involvement and it was later proven that his administration was involved. He also tried to withhold tapes from the investigative committee. He wasn't actually impeached but most people thought he would be. He resigned instead.

The last Chinese dynasty did not end in any of these options.  Puyi was forced to abdicate in 1912 but was restored to the throne for a 11 days in 1917. In 1916, Yuan Shikai seized power and proclaimed himself emperor in 1916.
