Explanation:

Anne Frank's relationship with both her mother and father differ greatly. Anne Frank had a more close and sentimental relationship with her mother. This closeness in relationship is highly anticipated, because girls are often more closer to their mothers. The connection between the two was strong not only because of their shared gender, but also because of a mother's matriarchal connections to her daughters. Anne's relationship with her father was quite different. Their relationship was not exactly one of indifference, but of a relationship on a more strict basis. Anne loved her father, and he loved her, but she was not especially close with him. She was able to emotionally connect with her mother; that which she could not do with her father.
