Answer:

Environmental risk can be managed by a number of strategies. The first employed is to prevent pollution at its source because this strategy eliminates the need to dispose of waste, restore habitats, or remediate contamination. In situations where pollution prevention is not possible or practical, then other strategies become important. Minimizing the amount of waste generated and properly disposing of the waste that is generated is one strategy, as is avoiding habitat damage.

vaieri [72.5K]

Answer: The name of the biome is Tundra.

Explanation:

Tundra is the coldest of all the biomes. Tundra comes from the Finnish word tunturi, meaning treeless plain. It is noted for its frost-molded landscapes, extremely low temperatures, little precipitation, poor nutrients, and short growing seasons. Dead organic material functions as a nutrient pool. The two major nutrients are nitrogen and phosphorus. Nitrogen is created by biological fixation, and phosphorus is created by precipitation.

Characteristics of tundra include:

Extremely cold climate

Low biotic diversity

Simple vegetation structure

Limitation of drainage

Short season of growth and reproduction

Energy and nutrients in the form of dead organic material

Large population oscillations.

Definition of Term:

Biome -

What is a biome? Biomes are very large ecological areas on the earth's surface, with fauna and flora (animals and plants) adapting to their environment. Biomes are often defined by abiotic factors such as temperature, climate, relief, geology, soils and vegetation.

The worldwide use of cleaner energy sources could result in what?Which one is it?a rise in ocean levelsa reduction in acid rain
sammy [17]

The best answer is reduction in acid rain.

Acid rain is rainfall which has been rendered acidic by pollutants  in the atmosphere.  This kind of rain is typically harmful to  forests and lakes.

The main cause of acid rain is human activities. The burning of fossil fuels such coal in electrical generating plants and crude oil products such as gasoline and diesel in car engine  releases  sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere.

These compounds mix with water very high up in the atmosphere and form acid pollutants which  fall on the ground as acid rain.

Use of clean energy will eliminate burning of fossil fuels and thus no acid rain will be produced.
