Infiltration time and runoff depend on the amount of rainfall and soil type.

If the soil is sandy, the infiltration rate is very high and no or very less amount of water remains for runoff while on the other hand, if the soil is clayey or loamy, the infiltration rate is slower and more water is susceptible to runoff from that area. So we can conclude that the infiltration time and runoff depend on the amount of rainfall and soil type of Elkhart, Indiana and  Lafayette.
