Read the excerpt from Trifles. County attorney(with the gallantry of a young politician). Which best describes the effect of the
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

D. It characterizes the County Attorney as someone desirous of showing respect to women, even if he does not mean it.

Explanation:

In the play "Triffles," by Susan Glaspell, the Country Attorney is described as a man who gives polite attention or respect to women.  However, in the play he does not give importance to what women thought and felt. In fact, it is a male-dominate society in which the men consider that a kitchen contains unsignificant elements or "triffles." However, the items found actually provide the evidence for the women to solve the case.

Ahat [919]

Answer:

In the climax of the book, Mr Mardsen said that she was a troublemaker and Lyddie denied these complains, he did it again and was fired from the mill.

She also sticks up for Brigid by dumping a bucket of water on her boss, Mr. Marsden when he tries to becomes inappropriately romantic with Brigid. Mr. Marsden gets Lyddie fired by saying that she has a problem with moral turpitude. This basically means that she is immoral, but since Lyddie does not know what the word means she cannot defend herself. This is a turning point for Lyddie because when she is fired she makes it a point to better educate herself. Since she is not granted a certificate of honorable discharge, she cannot get another job at a mill.

What "sickness" has lady Macbeth acquired
garri49 [273]

Answer:

Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia

Explanation:

In the play, we are presented with many variations and interpretations of mental sickness that Lady Macbeth develops, being the central one madness. However, madness would be too general and abstract to answer this question. Diving deeper in her symptoms, it becomes more and more logic (however not explicit) that she suffered from bipolar disorder, by showing the symptoms of inflated or self-esteem grandiosity. Another possibility is that she had at the same time schizophrenia developing psychosis and hearing voices.
