Select the sentence using direct address.
QveST [7]

The sentence that uses direct address is "Where are you going, Fred?".

Direct address in grammar means that you are speaking directly to a person or group of people either calling them by name, as in example, "Where are you going Fred?", or using the second person pronoun "you". As in the example above, the name is often separated from the rest of the sentence or question by a comma. For example, "Maria, I need you to finish your homework now."

Which character type describes Mr. Gray in "A Dogs Tale"<br> A) Flat B) stock C) Round D) dynamic
Mashutka [201]
I would say this character is round (option C) because "his personality, his background, motives and some other features are delineated by the author". He presents a complex personality like real people. It seems that he has different "layers" with contradictory situations and some transformations. However, his personality seems inconsistent. For example, He bits Aileen, then he treats her well because he knows the truth but he ends up killing her dog.

Which of the following lines uses figurative language?
tia_tia [17]

The line that uses figurative language is the last one: The girl's eyes were deep blue oceans.

<u>Figurative language refers to the use of figures of speech to make a literary text more impactful and to develop a more creative writing</u>. Some forms of figurative language are simile, metaphor and personification<u>. In the case of the line "The girl's eyes were deep blue oceans", there is a metaphor since a thing (the deep blue oceans) is regarded as representative of something else (the girl's eyes)</u>. In that way, the author is describing the girl's eyes by means of a comparison that, at the same time, should not been taken literally.
