Answer:

In the early 19th century, most roads were dreadful. They served local needs, allowing farmers to get produce to market. Americans who did travel long distances overland to settle the West rode on wagon trails, like the Oregon Trail, rather than well-defined roads. Still, a few major roads served as important transportation links. The National Road, initially funded by the federal government, stretched from Cumberland, Maryland, to Columbus, Ohio by 1833.

How did support for the administration vary over the eight years bush was president
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

The "Bush Doctrine" in foreign policy had these core ideas:  that the United States could pursue this goals on its own (without need for United Nations partnerships), that preemptive strikes were allowable against countries that harbored terrorists, and that regime change for the sake of promoting democracy was a good strategy.

Applied in regard to "the war on terror," Bush's foreign policy advocated that the best defense against terrorism in the world was to use American power to spread democratic values in countries that were potential breeding grounds for terrorist activity.  This sort of policy agenda was part of the "neoconservative" view of a number of  President George W. Bush's advisers -- especially some who had also served in the administration of his father, President George H.W. Bush.  In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, there was a desire to push American values and not be shy about doing so with the use of American military might.

Need help!!! 30 POINTS Please help me with a report of Abraham Lincoln and his impact on the Civil war
lora16 [44]

Throughout the Civil War, Lincoln developed plans to bring the nation back together and to give the enslaved their freedom. He led the Union to victory during the Civil War in 1861, and issued the Executive Order known as the Emancipation Proclamation which is what freed the slaves in the slave-holding Southern States and went into effect in January of the year 1863.

He helped slaves earn their equality, made the nation a whole, bound the country back together, and he even helped families reunite with each other after the war.

Following Lincolns murder on April 14, 1865, when he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth one week after the Civil War, Republicans in Congress moved to control Reconstruction.  After Lincolns death, his successor, President Johnson, continued on with the process of Reconstruction, and rebuilding the country.
