Read the passage, then answer the question.
lidiya [134]

Answer:

The correct answer is A: Andrew Carnegie married Louise Whitfield in 1887 and had a daughter named Margaret. He passed away on August 11, 1919, due to a bout of pneumonia.

Explanation:

The sentence from the passage describes Carnegie as a big philanthropist who was wealthy and tends to help other people who didn't have enough money.

Option A is the only one that cannot be considered as a supporting detail for the sentence because it reveals some stuff about his family and the date and the reason for his death.

The rest of the options refers to Carnegie's devotion to philanthropy and those sentences can be considered as a supporting details for the excerpt above.

Pavel [41]
The story revolves around the narrator who is the main character. By the way he speak (through the dialogue), it may be concluded that he is likely poor, uneducated, and does not want to get involved in any trouble. The other character asked the narrator to pair up with him in robbing some white folks. He convinced the narrator by using against him his physical state of being hungry. At the end the other character got everything and the narrator was left with nothing and even got hungrier. He asked the question of "What is with white folks, and why reckon them?" to his readers.

How does Athena help Odysseus once he reaches shore?
Anni [7]

Answer:

She gives him a veil that keeps him safe after his ship is wrecked. Athena too comes to his rescue as he is tossed back and forth, now out to the deep sea, now against the jagged rocks of the coast. Finally, a river up the coast of the island answers Odysseus's prayers and allows him to swim into its waters.
