The Three Principles of the People is a political philosophy developed by Sun Yat-sen as part of a philosophy that would turn China into a prosperous, powerful and free nation. The legacy of this philosophy is implemented in the government organization of the Republic of China, which currently manages the islands of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu. This philosophy is also considered as the spearhead of the policy of the Republic of China by the Kuomintang.
