The Middle Ages lacked the idea of saving old works of art that had lots of merit to it. It generally opposed that it was associated with a saint or a figure that founded something great. In the same time medieval works of literature were really important because it told stories that happened back then. If we didnt have those medieval works of writing we wouldnt know anything about the past.
