What is the connection between ambition, power, and corruption?<br> explain (2 paragraphs)
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

When one is driven by a want, happiness is attained through achieving this goal; but by willingly choosing to put forth desires before moral judgement, ambition holds the power to corrupt one's life.

Ambition is corrupting because it leads people to hurt and destroy others on their personal path for power. We would argue that ambition causes people to commit wrongdoings and that people with ambition would do whatever it takes to get power.

Power is the ability to direct or influence people or things (“Power”). Ambition is the strong desire to do, achieve or obtain things (“Ambition”). Power and ambition is frequently revealed in the play by the thoughts and actions of the two main characters, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

Macbeth becomes corrupt under the thought of becoming king and gaining almost complete control over the people that he rules. Macbeth wants the power badly enough to do horrible deeds such as commit regicide. Lady Macbeth becomes very ambitious and allows herself to become seduced to the idea of becoming Queen.
