Answer:

Too much respect for law leads people to do many unjust things, as war illustrates: Soldiers become only a shadow of their humanity; the government shapes them into machines. Soldiers have no opportunity to exercise moral sense, reduced to the existence comparable to that of a horse or dog. Yet these men are often called good citizens.

Explanation:

This paragraph is from Civil Disobediance by Henry David Thoreau, and my answer of <em>"Too much respect for law leads people to do many unjust things, as war illustrates: Soldiers become only a shadow of their humanity; the government shapes them into machines. Soldiers have no opportunity to exercise moral sense, reduced to the existence comparable to that of a horse or dog. Yet these men are often called good citizens" </em>conveys the summary.

Answer:

Thoreau feels about the people who serve the state are immoral because they are doing all the wrong things for the wrong reasons, To much respect for the law leads people to do many unjust things because they may take the law into their own hands when they see someone disobeying the order of how they think things are supposed to run. Soldiers became only a shadow of their humanity and then the government shaped them into machines that the people or themselves could not recognize themselves they have been turned into something they didn't want it's what the government wanted.

Which sentence contains a word choice error?
zvonat [6]

Language-related translation problems are known as word choice errors. The word anywhere in the second sentence is a word choice error. Thus, option b is correct.

<h3>What is a word choice error?</h3>

The mistake that occurs for a variety of reasons, including defective language and incorrect word choice, and alters the meaning of the statement is the error due to the word choice.

The word anywhere is used incorrectly and is the error that is unfit in the sentence making the sentence to be incorrect. The other three sentences have the correctly used and placed words making them appropriate.

Therefore, in option b the word anywhere causes a word choice error.

How do you feel about the ways in which modern war is waged
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:4.  let technology guide how we communicate.

Explanation:

Not only did Lincoln's wartime dependence on the telegraph eventually lead to a wave of investment in new communication devices, from the telephone to the Internet (the latter invented, not coincidentally, for military use), but it also signaled the evolution of a language that morphs as quickly as the devices that instantaneously tweet our words around the globe.
