We should appreciate the differences in and variety of worlds instead of just transforming them to suit our own ambitions.
jonny [76]
This quote to me means that we should accept people how they are, and not try to change them to our benefit, but instead adapt to how they are. I think the author put in this quote because he wanted to tell use how Mars may be different, but we should still accept it, and deal with it, not change it to fit our needs.

Read this excerpt from chapter 1 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and answer the question.
marishachu [46]

Answer:

The narrator creates uncertainly by calling into question the integrity of the main character while making clear that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is intended as a comedy.

Explanation:

By saying that it's 'mostly true' called the integrity into question as well as the fact that he 'but lied one time or another'. It is intended to be funny as is the story.

Read the following excerpt from The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.
Anettt [7]

Answer:

D. The longer sentences in this excerpt provide many descriptive details.

Explanation:

In this excerpt from "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling (1865 - 1936), many long sentences are used to describe how Mowgli was brought up with wolves in the jungle.

Option A is incorrect as the sentence used in the excerpt are long and not short.

Option B is not correct, because the excerpt states a single event (may be a set of sub-event), which is bringing up of Mowgli in childhood.

Option C is incorrect because the description given is hardly any action. They are just details describing Mowgli's childhood.
