Why did the Cherokee Nation believe it could win its case in the United States Supreme Court
strojnjashka [21]
They wanted to exploit a loophole in american politics. Before them, the other Native people who ceded their lands had first been recognized as nations and then when the territory became their legally, they would give it away in deals with the American government. The Cherokee thus declared themselves to be a sovereign nation and not to give the land, which is why they took the case to the supreme court in order to be protected.

Put the items in correct order
aniked [119]

Answer:

Correct order is:

1. Catholic Church selling indulgences

2. Martin Luther writing his 95 Theses

3. Protestant Churches emerge

Explanation:

Catholic church used this custom of selling indulgences throughout Middle Ages which was in one moment unacceptable even to some people in the church. That is why Luther and people similar to him started opposing it. Luther showed his dissatisfaction when in 1517 he wrote 95 Thesis and openly protested against indulgences. His fight, with the support of others at the end led to creation of Protestant churches, including the Lutheran church.

Lelu [443]
That could go both ways, maybe they didnt own a plantation or have use for a slave. But they still could support it. Or, they could be completely against it, and think its completely wrong and dehumanizing, they could help runaway slaves get to the north.
