Thanks to the advances in quantitative synthesis -which has to do with analysis of meta data-, and group judgement methods, there are new methods available to us to make a conclusive summary of available knowledge and sometimes using such data to accurately predict the future.

Other methods such as cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) and cost-benefit analysis (CBA) help to introduce the economics side of such research.
